The Ondo State Police Command has arrested Abdullahi Saliu, a notorious fraudster posing as a Nigerian Army colonel, for allegedly defrauding two women of N1,377,000 under the pretense of securing employment for their sons in customs and immigration services.

Saliu, apprehended at Top Quality Hotel, lured victims Oshoade Janet and Daisi Remilekun Joy with false promises, converting the funds to personal use. Investigations reveal his operations span Edo, Delta, Kogi, and Ondo states, where he impersonated various senior officers—including army colonels, naval personnel, and immigration/customs officials—to scam citizens.

The suspect, long on the command’s radar as a job racketeer, has been arraigned before Magistrate Court 1 for prosecution.

Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal credits the breakthrough to diligent efforts, reaffirming the command’s dedication to protecting lives and property while pursuing justice for fraudsters.
